It's been a while...

It looks like its been about a month since the last post...  so I have a ton of new pictures of Kylie!!!  Since the last post she has had her cord fall off (yay, that was gross looking!) her first bath, her first smile, her first "date night" with mommy and daddy, her first time meeting her great grandma and grandpa Gudmundsen and has gotten even cuter!  So here are some more fun pictures of her!  Enjoy!!!

The First Mother's Day!

Kylie came just in time for us to be able to celebrate Mother's Day this year!  We had a nice relaxing day just hanging out and eating.  Pretty much our normal Sunday!  haha  Kylie wore a cute little dress to church and was just too adorable!

We had Kylie's Great-Grandma Trish over for Mother's Day dinner.  We had some yummy steaks grilled by Austin and had a good time talking and staring at Kylie (one of my favorite things to do now!)  After dinner Austin and I took Kylie and the dogs for a nice walk around the neighborhood.  I perfect ending to a great day!

Kylie's Two Week Check-up

Kylie had her two week check-up last Wednesday, and she is doing great!  She weighed 8 lbs 11 1/2 oz and was 21 1/4 in long.  This put her in the 64th percentile for weight compared to other girls her age and 83rd percentile for height.  It appears that she has her mom's head because she was only in the 48th percentile for head size.  Poor Kylie!  :)

Kylie the Sleeper

As soon as we brought Kylie home, she was an amazing sleeper!  She slept anywhere from 4 to 7 hours straight at night only waking up once in the middle of the night.  It was great, and I got very spoiled!  Of course this weekend she would only sleep in spurts of 3 hours.  It was just horrible!  :)  Anyway she is just the best little baby.  She sleeps and eats well and hardly ever cries.  Plus, she is adorable!!!  Here are some of my favorite pictures of her from the last week and a half.

Kylie Rae Vorkink

Kylie Rae Vorkink made her appearance April 21, 2010 at 2:13 am.  She was 8 lbs. 2 oz. and 20 1/2 in.  She has adorable black hair and is just too cute!

And here is her birth story:

My water broke at 4:50 pm on the 20th and Austin and I made it to the hospital about 6:20 pm.  I was still at 3 centimeters when they checked me in and I wasn't having very regular contractions so they put me on pitocin to speed up the process.  While Austin and I played Phase 10 the contractions started to pick up and after feeling a few of them I got my epidural.  At this point I was at 4.5 centimeters.  The nurse came back to check on me after about an hour or hour and a half and said I was fully dilated!!!  They had me wait about an hour before pushing so the baby's head would come down a bit more.  Then the pushing began...  After pushing through 5 and 1/2 contractions little Kylie joined us!

False Labor.... I hate it!

Starting around 5:00 pm yesterday I started having contractions every 7 minutes!!  This lasted until about midnight when I went to sleep thinking that I would be woken up early in the morning by contractions and get to go to the hopsital.  No such luck!  Even though I MADE Austin accompany me on 3 walks yesterday nothing happened....  :(  Anyways, hopefully this means she will be coming soon!  I am still having some contractions today but they don't seem to be very regular like they were yesterday.  I'll keep my fingers crossed though!

The Nursery

The nursery is ready and waiting for little Kylie to come!  While I was in Death Valley with my family back in February, Austin surprised me by painting the nursery lime green so I wouldn't have to do any of the work. What a husband!  Then my parents came up a few weeks ago to help finish the nursery.  Danelle, my mom and I made the bumper pads, the valences and the dust ruffle.  Heather is making a patch work quilt for the blanket and should be done by the time Kylie arrives.  Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of the nursery!  She could be here any day now!!!!  haha  Hopefully sooner rather than later!
