On March 27th Kassidy got to come home!!! It was so exciting! I couldn't wait to get her home and have all of my girls with me. One of the hardest parts about the NICU is that they never give you any definite answers. It was several days after she had been there that we were finally told that she was stable. They don't want to give you any false hope... I was so relieved to finally be told that she was stable. Then the next big question, did she have any brain damage or anything since she stopped breathing. I made Austin ask this one when I wasn't there. I wasn't ready for any bad news... They told him that there were no signs that there would be any lasting damage!!! What a relief! We had been terrified that she would have problems after her rough delivery. Anyways, the whole time she was in the NICU they would tell us, she may be here until her due date... That would have been 4 weeks in the NICU! We (Austin, my mom, my dad and I) couldn't understand why she would have to stay there so long. She was gaining weight and getting stronger every day. Something Kelsey was not doing... Kassidy was actually a better eater than Kelsey and we often joked that if the NICU Dr. saw Kelsey they would admit her too! Welp, after 13 days, Kassidy was eating well enough to come home! She was off her oxygen too, so she was home free! Oh yeah, she failed her car seat test 2 days before she was supposed to come home. She had like 1 minute left when her oxygen saturation tanked. The nurse at the NICU said that she would be unable to come home if she didn't pass the test. When we told him that our other daughter came home after failing it in 20 minutes he was surprised to hear they let her come home and said it wasn't the same in the NICU... Thankfully, she passed the test the next day so she could come home!

First time they were together since they were 4 days old. |

This was the first time Kylie got to meet Kassidy. She now had two little sisters and she was SO excited. Although I think she cared more about the balloons... |
Together in their crib. :) |
Kylie loves being the big sister of twins. |
She couldn't get enough of them and did NOT want to get out of the crib!

We were now "officially" a family of five. Let the fun begin!!!
