Like I said before, Kelsey came home with us when she was 4 days old. Kylie loved her already and couldn't get enough of her! She loved to hold her; It was so cute! Not too much happened over the next week and a half... We visited the NICU a couple of times a day, had to take Kelsey in for blood tests for her bilirubin at least every other day, and played with Kylie. I was fully anticipating laying on the couch for a couple of weeks while my mom, dad and Austin waited on me while I recovered from the c-section. As it turns out, there really wasn't much rest at all, but I really didn't have any problems after the c-section. There was no time for recovery, just time to take care of my kiddos! Oh yeah, when Kelsey left the hospital, I think she weighed around 4 lbs 11 oz. Since she was so small and a premie, they did a carseat test to make sure it was safe to take her home. They do this by hooking her up to monitors that watch her oxygen saturation and heartbeat and put her in the carseat for 45 minutes. She of course failed after 20 minutes. They told us we could still take her home but that we needed to have an adult in the backseat with her and she couldn't be in the seat for more than 20 minutes at a time... Plus, the carseats are only rated for babies over 5 lbs... So we had to put a rolled up towel under her bum to make sure she didn't slip down too far.
